Book work

Published book covers and
interior formatting

I design ebook covers and full wrap book covers for print. I also format book interiors for both formats.
Whether working with stock or original art, my aim is to create communicative, professional, original, and polished covers that will help your book stand out. Want to get in touch about your book? Fill out the contact form using the button below.

I also work with Kaleidoscope Vibrations, LLC! If you are an author seeking more of a full-service publishing experience (with editor, illustrator, formatter, etc) and your work fall under KV's umbrella of publishing work around multiple or intersecting identities, check out KV's site to see if you might be a good fit.

Graphic design

In support of clients I've worked with for their books, I've also designed associated merchandise — from candle labels to sweatshirts— and promotional materials — from author one pagers to post-its to stand-up banners for events. If I can help you with creating materials like this for your next event or campaign, let me know!

Audio work

podcast consulting

I work with new podcasters one-on-one to walk through the work of putting out a podcast: what to expect, what it takes, and how to produce the best quality experience for your listeners. We will talk about branding, recording equipment, audio quality, editing, hosting services, RSS feeds, and more.

audio editing

I edit multi-track (and single track) audio segments into the best possible listening experience for your listeners. I edit for clarity and flow, and I master for consistency and listenability.

About

Caroline (she/her)

I am an elder millennial, mom to preschooler twins, and child of the (Chinese-Indonesian-US) diaspora living in Queens, New York. I am fluent in fandom and most at home with passionate nerds. My ideal work life is working with marginalized people with stories to tell, helping them package their work for a wider audience and grow their communities. I boost queer and BIPOC voices whenever possible and always try to use my Adobe powers for good.I sometimes find time to draw, in between my thousand other projects.

Book inquiries (cover + formatting)

If you can answer these questions in your inquiry, I'll be better able to determine how involved will the typesetting be and how many elements there will be to give you a proper estimate.

  • Are you interested in a book cover, interior formatting, or both?

  • Are you interested in ebook-only services or ebook + print?

  • What genre of book are you publishing? (Mystery, romance, children's book, poetry, self-help, workbook, etc.)

  • How many words is your book?

  • Will there be any diagrams, artwork, photos, "tips," or any other sidebar text on the interior? If so, approximately how many?

  • What titles do you find inspiration from and would like to emulate (not copy)?

  • Are you interested in merchandise design or other promotional material graphic design work?

Audio inquiries (podcast consulting + editing)

Editing typically requires at least twice the amount of time as is recorded; so if you record for 30 minutes, expect around an hour of editing for a basic run-through. The following information helps me determine how much time your project will need and how to manage your deadline (if you have one).

  • Have you begun your podcast already, either recording or publishing? Have you given thought as to whether you want to record and edit everything in advance and publish in the future, or record and publish as you go?

  • How long is your unedited audio and what expectations (if any) do you have about the length of the edited audio? Please be specific about any time horizons you have in mind.

  • Do you have multiple tracks or a single track for the recording? If multiple, how many?

  • Do you have any podcasts in mind that you'd like to emulate or take inspiration from, in terms of format, tone, or anything else?
